What Is Microneedling?
Microneedling is a cosmetic procedure that treats skin issues. It uses a specialized device called a dermaroller which contains thin needles on a roller. The device is applied to the desired area where the needles prick the skin at varying depths.
The procedure helps your body treat and heal itself by stimulating collagen growth. The needles on the device pierce the top layer of skin. They promote healing by encouraging the production of collagen and elastin, the proteins that keep skin firm.
We believe in patient participation and education when making decisions about your health. Our provider will ensure you understand every part of the procedure, including:
- What to expect during microneedling
- How long it typically takes to see results
- How long you can expect results to last
- How often you might need additional sessions
Our approach to traditional and cosmetic healthcare is patient-focused and patient-driven. This allows us to custom tailor treatment to support optimal skin health.
What Conditions Can Be Treated with Microneedling?
With its ability to penetrate the top layer of skin and increase collagen production, microneedling can be used to treat the following conditions:
- Sun overexposure
- Breakdown in elasticity
- Fine line
- Loose skin
- Effects of aging
- Enlarged pores
- Skin discoloration
- Uneven skin tone
- Stretch marks
A complete understanding of your medical history is an important part of any treatment plan. Be sure to discuss any of the following with our team of physicians and nurse practitioners: bleeding disorders, cancer, history of keloid scarring, and eczema.
Can Microneedling Be Combined with Other Procedures?
Microneedling can be performed with or without platelet rich plasma (PRP)® therapy. PRP uses your own blood (enriched with concentrated platelets) to promote beneficial healing. Your treatment options can depend on your overall health and the size of your treatment area. A member of our healthcare team will review your options and help you make a well-informed decision.
Insurance demands and concerns do not have to stand in the way of getting the treatment you prefer. Our office works on an affordable non-insurance basis. We also offer primary care services, an option that many patients choose after coming to us for a specific service.

How Does the Procedure Work?
At Anti-Aging & Regenerative Associates, we provide microneedling treatment for patients in Brevard County and its surrounding areas. The procedure is simple and safe and typically involves the following process:
- We carefully clean your skin and treat the area with a numbing solution
- We wait up to 45 minutes to start the procedure to allow sufficient numbing time
- The microneedling device is then applied to the treatment area
- You can return home the same day treatment is received
You might experience minimal bleeding. Microneedling is usually a one-day procedure that can take between 15 minutes and several hours for completion. Treatment time will vary based on the size of the treatment area. Like every procedure we offer, microneedling is customized to fit your unique objectives, desired outcome, and preferred timing.
What Are the Benefits of Having the Procedure Done by Your Providers?
The dermarollers used in microneedling can be purchased for in-home use. However, we do not recommend attempting this cosmetic procedure on your own. Doing so can be risky and lead to inappropriate or ineffective treatment. Improper use can also increase your risks of:
- Potential scarring
- Additional skin conditions
- Agitating other skin conditions
When you have microneedling done in our safe, sanitary office, you get to reap the benefits of our extensively trained and experienced providers. You also experience invaluable peace of mind.
We start microneedling — and every procedure we offer — with a thorough examination. This initial exam includes examining more than your skin in the affected areas. We also assess your overall health, note any underlying conditions, and create a complete patient wellness plan.
